Our Learning Stations….

Caboose Infants

Ages: 6 weeks – 16 months
Licensed for: 10 infants (1:4)

Enrolling your baby in childcare brings anticipation and excitement. This may be one of many first’s for you and your new baby.

Trust and communication are very important in our relationships between Tooterville and parents. We want you to be able to go to work and know your baby is being cared for in a safe, nurturing, clean, compassionate, learning environment. Daily documentation will be kept throughout the day on your infant’s, eating, sleeping, diapering habits and their general disposition.

In our infant room our loving caregivers will rock, cuddle, respect, interact and play with your baby, they will strive to meet your infant’s needs and help each individual child as they enter into each developmental stage of life.

Infants have their own schedule when they are ready to eat, sleep and play when the need is present. We will respect each child’s schedule and follow it. During their wake times their caregivers will, sing, read, play and introduce creative activities to develop their minds and bodies.

Infants will use extensive body language, facial expressions, and all sorts of verbal sounds to interact with you. These movements and sounds will eventually evolve into language. But until they do, we will introduce them to sign language. We will start with “milk,” “more,” “eat,” and “please,”. We will work with a few signs at a time and introduce new ones as they learn. We will use the word as we sign.

Box Car Toddlers

They will have a theme based curriculum introducing them to the ABC’s, counting, colors, shapes, and exploring art with crayons, markers, glue, paint, and play dough. They will use many different art media from painting with feathers to felt!
