Mission Statement
Tooterville has been in operation since 1974.
It is the philosophy of Tooterville that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploring, learning and discovery.
Children are creative and receptive. Our program strives to nurture and encourage these qualities in its students. Tooterville offers a warm, nurturing environment that encourages the development of the “whole child.”
Tooterville’s purpose is to provide an Eco-Healthy, green, clean-air atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative growth and development of the child as a whole.
Our professional staff is responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age that includes, sharing and conversation time, stories, songs and finger plays, creative art activities, games and large muscle activities, field trips throughout the community, food preparation, science and nature activities, introduction to shapes, colors, numbers, and letters, and celebration of birthdays and holidays, with an emphasis on living a green healthy life by recycling and being kind to our earth.
The children develop these skills through exploring and experimenting within the environment using a variety of materials and experiences, in addition to parent and teacher involvement in a supportive, confidence-building atmosphere.
We believe that the education and care children receive in their earlier years prepares them for successful adulthood and the ability to make positive changes for the world’s peoples. The purpose of this endeavor is to continually foster the well-being of children and their families, provide the community at large with a valuable and critically needed service, and promote excellence in early childhood teaching practices while encouraging professional growth in staff.
The important thing is that not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.

Tooterville is a great place to send my 3 year old son. He loves going
every day and always learns something new. I am glad that he likes it and that I
know he is in a healthy environment. We truly see the value in eco-friendly and
eco-healthy environments for our child.
